Direction is Sophia’s estimate of whether a coin is likely to post a positive or a negative return over the course of a day. Direction can take one of two values: Up or Down. On average since March 2018, Up coins post annualized daily returns of 90% while Down coins post annualized daily returns of -34% on days when Sophia makes one of these calls. For comparison, the annualized daily return of Bitcoin over the same time was 53%.

Mood gives an idea of the magnitude and sign of a coin’s likely return over the course of a day. Mood takes on one of five possible scores: Very Bearish, Bearish, Neutral, Bullish, or Very Bullish. On average since March 2018, Bullish and Very Bullish coins post annualized daily returns of 60% while Bearish and Very Bearish coins post annualized daily returns of -17% on days when Sophia makes one of these calls. For comparison, the annualized daily return of Bitcoin over the same time was 53%.

Harmony indicates whether a coin has behaved in sync with Sophia’s Mood in the recent past. It can take on one of three scores: High, Intermediate, or Low. Sophia’s Mood is 13% more accurate for coins with High Harmony than for coins with Intermediate or Low Harmony.
